I was immersed in the subjects I was learning as we did a lot of visiting other places to gain knowledge such as a children’s school, museums, galleries, etc. I was able to learn about a different culture and that is very important to do when you are going to be working with all different types of people.

Everything I learned in my child psychology class was crucial to prepare me for my future career goal of being a pediatric occupational therapist.

On a personal level, my time abroad was very important to me as I made many friends, learned how to adapt in new and unfamiliar situations, and I was able to explore Ireland and see some gorgeous views.

The connections I made with the people I studied abroad with are really special to me because we navigated around Ireland together, learned about culture together from classes and being surrounded by it, worked through homesickness together, and we worked with one another in our classes.

When in Ireland we were surrounded with things that were new to a lot of us: different lingo, using different types of public transportation, some new foods, etc. It was all so new and exciting and being able to navigate all of it with the help of the people working at CEA and the friends I was studying abroad with was very interesting and thrilling. When we were in Ireland, we were able to explore on our own time and on some excursions that CEA CAPA set up for us.

One of my favorite excursions we went on was when we went to Galway and the Cliffs of Moher. The view at the cliffs was gorgeous, the water was a deep blue, the grass was bright green, and the cliffs were just beautiful to look at. Even the drive there was gorgeous looking at all the land and the farm animals.

I cannot recommend studying abroad enough after my exciting experience in Ireland studying child psychology!
