MSU has a deep partnership with Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU). This includes the Asia Hub initiative at NAU which is a hub for innovative international partnerships to co-advance science and co-generate knowledge required to address emerging sustainability challenges in Asia. This Asia Hub initiative at NAU includes physical office spaces in Nanjing and a new location in Sanya, for faculty and staff from MSU and its more than 20 regional partner institutions to help coordinate communications and research collaboration efforts. The main activities of the Consortium involve an Annual Symposium, which alternates between Shanghai and East Lansing, and the publication of the Chinese Journal of Career and Work Psychology.

College of Natural Science/American Semester Program: This partnership is with the School of Science of Xi'An Jiaotong University (XJTU), one of the C9 elite universities in China. Within the partnership, XJTU delegates one to four students per year who spend one to two semesters enrolled as regular students at MSU. When here, the students participate in the American Semester Program. Aside from physics and mathematics classes, the students take one breadth course and they engage in a research project in physics. At times the project continues remotely after the students leave.

Office of China Programs: MSU has a memorandum of understanding with ZJU that involves more than 20 MSU graduate programs spanning six colleges. This agreement facilitates a 3+1+X program for ZJU students. Admitted undergraduate students from ZJU come to MSU during their senior year to begin their master's or doctoral studies.
