Office of China Programs Development Grant |

In February 2006, the Office of China Programs at Michigan State University announced the first annual, China Programs Development Grant. This competitive grant program is intended to support travel to and from China for selected MSU faculty members to enable them to engage in one or more of the following activities:
· to develop new joint research programs; · to develop new joint education programs; · to facilitate technology transfer and commercialization of MSU and Michigan patents or licenses; · to promote economic development and cooperation between China and the State of Michigan
Each year, the Office of China Programs hopes to make available approximately five (5) grants ranging from $3,000 to $5,000 each. Faculty in all the colleges and departments are eligible to apply. Proposals should include the following information:
· A cover sheet with contact information · the proposed activities and purposes; · the expected outcome of these activities; · the applicant’s history of engagement with Chinese partners; · a written endorsement from the applicant’s dean or department chairperson, and a minimum of 20% matching funds from the applicant’s college or department; · a proposed budget.
This grant will not support faculty attendance at conferences, seminars and workshops in China. Also, the grant will not support graduate student research work in China. |
